HER Description

NEHL - A bowling green can be seen on aerial photographs from 1946, though is unlabelled on contemporary maps. It was located not far from the village green on Wynyard Road behind allotments. The access to it isn't immediately obvious, so it may have been private in the hands of the landowner.

The ground is no longer in situ, though it appears there may be light earthworks indicating the landscaping required for the bowling green. It is now vacant land on the edge of the village.
