Walker Celtic(?)

HER Description

NEHL - After the construction of new residential properties near St Anthony's Station, a new ground was bedded in at Pearson Street near the old gas holder at Walker. It's unconfirmed whether Walker Celtic played at this ground, but is likely.

The lifespan of the ground falls between Ordnance Survey maps, but is visible on aerial imagery from the 30s. The ground was fenced off with minor facilities. It appears there may have been a small clubhouse on its southern end. The entrance appears to have been at the end of either Church Street or Pearson Street. The ground was also demolished for residential.

Ordnance Survey

The ground was replaced with housing developments, as seen on this Ordnance Survey map from 1967.
