HER Description

NEHL - An open lawn tennis ground stood just off the main High Street at Station Road in the 19th century. A small clubhouse stood where the tanning and piercing studios now stand, while the main court was situated where the Swan Hunter Memorial Hall has been built since. There is little other detail as finding contemporary newspaper archives and other info has proven difficult.
