HER Description

NEHL - A tennis ground stood at the end of St Alban's Street between around the 1900s and 1930s.

There is no newspaper records nor documentary correspondence of the tennis ground, but is shown on Ordnance Survey maps published in 1921. It was a modest court with no facilities, just an enclosure.

The boundary of the court appears to remain into the 1940s, though the imagery is too blurry to decipher if it was still in use.
