HER Description
NEHL - Adjacent to Bents Cottages on Mowbray Road was South Shields Athletic's Athletic Ground. Built in the 1890s it had consierable facilities for the time, including what looks like two stands and a clubhouse. It can be presumed other clubs or sports were played there too. By the 1910s the ground was demolished in favour of housing, and the club moved to a different site in the town.
