HER Description

NEHL - Rosehill Football Ground stood at this location in the 1890s. It was home to Willington Athletic for a period of time until they moved to a ground next to Howdon Railway Station. They were presumably forced to move due to ongoing housing development.

There was a small clubhouse on the western side of the pitch but facilities were primitive. There is nothing today to indicate the pitch ever existed. The ground is not visible in aerial shots from the 1940s.
