HER Description

NEHL - A bowling green was constructed in the Miners Welfare Park at Hetton-le-Hole in the 20s or 30s, as part of efforts to increase the standard of living amongst colliery workers and their families. The green had its own pavilion on the north end which appears to have been demolished.
