HER Description

NEHL - A tennis ground stood north of Welfare Road adjacent to the football ground in the mid 20th c. It is likely connected to the welfare ground facilitated by the owners of Eppleton Colliery. There was a pavilion in its north west corner, though has all now been demolished for housing.
