NEHL - An athletics and football ground could be found on Burn Road from the late 1880s/early 1890s until at most the 1930s. The 1890s map shows a running track, however numerous clubs played at the ground including Hartlepool NER in the 1890s and West as part of the Durham Amateur Cup in the 1890s. The site was redeveloped by the 1910s becoming a Refuse Destructor.
