HER Description

NEHL - A football ground stood on Duncombe Bank, close to the East Coast Main Line, between at least the 30s and around the 60s when housing developments were constructed on the site. It was not the towns main football ground which was on Darlington Road, so may have been a ground for local leagues or amateur teams. There was a small clubhouse on the north end of the pitch.
