NEHL - Durham City's first ground was Garden House Park at Framwellgate for their first year of competition in the North Eastern League. There was no formal facilities like a clubhouse or stand, so the Garden House Hotel was probably utilised.

Durham City moved to Kepier Haughs in 1920, and later Holiday Park.

Contemporary newspapers show one of their first tournaments was between the main clubs in the North East in December 1918. It was contested between Newcastle United, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Darlington, West Hartlepool, South Shields, Scotswood and Durham.
