HER Description

NEHL - A lawn tennis ground was constructed adjacent to the Grammar School in the 19th century, and was demolished around the 1900s to make way for housing. It was still part of the grounds in the 1890s before Cleveland Avenue extended southwards to join Duke Street and later Abbey Road.
