NEHL - A cricket ground has stood on this site since 1890, and first appears on maps in the same decade as an enclosed site north of Black Hill village with a small pavilion on its north east corner. Consett CC, derived from Benfieldside CC, have used the site as its home ground since its inception. The first home match was against Jarrow, beating them 193 to 16.
