HER Description

NEHL - A bowling green stood here which pre-dated the iteration just south. This one is visibly on the maps from 1919, and stood at the top of St Lawrence Park. It was then a recreation ground enveloped by terraced housing and the Riverside railway from Byker to St Peters.

There is no evidence of the green today, though the park remains. The 2nd iteration is still visible.
