Blanchland featured its own tennis court from at least the 1940s, but possibly slightly earlier. This is shown on aerial photography from the decade backing onto the historic square and St Mary's church. It was a simple court with no facilities apart from a modern, well laid court with metal fencing surrounding.

It now appears to be a car park.
