Bellingham featured its own rifle range over the river on Brown Rigg and Dunterley Fell. It was a 600 yard range, with shooters positioning themselves on the lane to Cragwell House aiming south east to a set of targets on Dunterley Fell. The course featured an old sheepfold, a flagstaff as well as a mantlet near the targets, which was a sort of portable wall to screen any bullets.

The rifle range is no longer in used but was still shown on Ordnance Survey maps from 1920. It was operated by the local volunteer company but also used by Bellingham Rifle Club, who were established in 1904. The president of the club was Mr Ulric Charlton of Reedsmouth Hall.

The access path is still used, but the rifle range no longer.
