HER Description

NEHL - A Rifle Range was constructed on the banks of the Wear utilising an old clay pit for targets. Distance markers totalling 550 yards were placed from the clay pits at Newton Cap to the banks where a pavilion stood. All has been demolished, though the remains of the clay pits can be seen.
