HER Description

Shown on Ordnance Survey second edition.

NEHL - Tennis was played on this parcel of land in the 19th century. On the 1896 Newcastle Town Plan, no specific tennis court features are illustrated, meaning the setup may have been quite rudimental, but was on a landscaped flat area surrounded by an embankment.
