Listing Description (if available)

It is clear on both the 1867 and 1890s Ordnance Survey map that Foxton Hall is an irregular cluster of buildings rather than a formally planned country hall. It appears much more like a farm than any noble establishment. The footprint is pretty much identical on the 1890s map too, though there's small additions to the outbuildings. Both maps cover the period of the Duke's ownership.

By the time of the mid 20th century (with this map published in 1960), the site was under the ownership of the Alnmouth Golf Club as their new clubhouse. This covered a huge expanse of previously agricultural land, with an expansion from a single 9 hole course to that and an 18 hole course. There again are few additions apart from the odd extra outbuilding and remains similar today.
