Our second walk of the season in May covers the length of Bothal Woods along the Wansbeck. I cannot wait for this, especially in Spring! Faith, nobility and a sprinkling of industry will be the tone of this walk trouncing on historical chapels and wells.

Deep Dives is a concept by the North East Heritage Library to take historical walks away from the grandeur and into the nitty gritty. Sports, industry, utilities and street furniture all feature in this series of informal walks which aim to capture the imagination and to take a second glance at the history we might not catch first time.
You will receive a free, professionally printed handbook which will supplement our walk with maps and photographs to really gain an insight into our surroundings.
