Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal shaft was located at a site named "old pit fold", giving a hint at coal mining here. A cluster of buildings remained in situ in the 1850s, and could have still been in use as the shaft is not illustrated as disused. One row remains today, though there is no sign of the shaft above ground.
