Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A "New" Paddock Mire Colliery opened around the 1870s or 1880s, presumably replacing the much older original working a few hundred metres down the road. This one appeared much more modern with a weighing machine and vertical shaft. There were only 3 ground level buildings and a small waste heap in the 1890s, though it had closed.

The working had been disassembled with little trace by the 1910s.
