Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal shaft was located close to Hunwick Colliery at Half Moon Plantation through to the 20th century. It was operational in the 1850s as per Ordnance Survey maps, and is likely linked to Hunwick and/or Newfield Collieries. The shaft can no longer be seen above ground.
