Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - An old shaft is illustrated on the 1890s Ordnance Survey maps south west of Urpeth and north east of Perkinsville. The shaft does not appear on the 1860s maps, though a patch of grassland indicative of disused pits does. It is especially pertinent that this is an old pit as a bridleway meanders around the boundary of the site, indicating there was once activity here.
