Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A shaft is illustrated on the 1866 Ordnance Survey map on the grounds of Togston Hall, close by to a smithy and the road leading north to Amble. No other details are provided. By the 1890s the shaft is labelled as 'old', indicating it being out of use. It was likely used locally for the hall.
