Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal shaft was situated on the crossroads between Cross Lane and Plawsworth Road throughout the 19th century, and was labelled as 'old' by the 1850s. It is not known whether this was an isolated working, or ventilation/access for another nearby colliery.

It does not appear this shaft is still extant above ground.
