Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - This is one of a few pre-1850s drift mines at Greenland Bank, adjacent to Esh Laude. It appears they were all connected or worked by the same person or company. Two appear on the 1850s maps while four appear on the 1890s, 1910s and 1940s maps. This means they were all in situ for at least 90 years after closure.

There was a waggonway located at Laude Bank, though it is difficult to gauge whether these mines were related as widespread mapping only commenced in the 1850s here.
