Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal mine named Lound Groove was situated on Laude Bank from at least the 1850s until before the 1890s. It was a drift mine, meaning pitmen and wagons entered horizontally into the hill. It appears it was connected to a waggonway which constructed after the 1850s, connecting a number of drifts between Quebec and Esh Laude. The waggonway was dismantled by the 1890s also.
