NEHL - An old coal level is illustrated on the Ordnance Survey maps surveyed in the 1850s, just north east of Knowes Wood at Prudhoe. There is little other information provided about the site, though a small building can be seen next to an earthwork on the map which may indicate it was abandoned not long before the 1850s.
