NEHL - This is one of the multiple coal shafts situated on the north bank of the Twizell Burn near Pelton. The 1860s Ordnance Survey map illustrates an old shaft in what appears to be an old plantation of farm leading from High Row. Sadly, nothing further is known about the working.
