Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - This is one of multiple shafts on the banks of the Twizell Burn at Pelton. This shaft was located around 70m wear of Howlet Hall, and was still in situ in the mid 19th century though disused. By the 1890s, no trace was evident according to Ordnance Survey maps.
