Description (or HER record listing)

Two possible post medieval coal pits are visible as earthwork and soilmarks on historical air photos. The pit at NZ2093 8725 shows as a dark, subcircular stain in bare soil. The other shows as a large hollow approximately 30m in diameter. Both have now been destroyed by recent open cast mining activity.
