Description (or HER record listing)

Extensive coal working in the form of open cast mining is visible as earthworks on air photos. These workings date to the latter decades of the 20th century. These works, which covered at least 90hectares have now been infilled, relandscaped and returned to cultivation. Unfortunately because there are gaps in the 1980s photographic coverage of this area the extents of the workings depicted by this project may not include all those area that were actually mined.
