Description (or HER record listing)

A small pit and a collar of spoil are visible as earthworks on historical air photos. These features are located in a field to the north of Burnside at Bedlington. The spoil impinges in the field boundary and suggests that it is the more recent than the boundary. These features may be the remains of post medieval coal workings and they have now been levelled.
