Description (or HER record listing)

The remains of a former wagonway and possible coal pit are visible as soilmarks and earthworks on historical air photos and on lidar imagery. The wagonway runs south-east to north-west from the Dairy House Branch Wagonway and may have linked to the coal pit located in the next field (20799). The wagonway appears to have been raised on short embankments to ride over local gullies and dips. The possible coal pit or shaft entrance is located at NZ3337 7588.
