Description (or HER record listing)

The remains of a possible post medieval coal pit is visible as earthworks on historical air photos. This possible adit and spoil heap are located west of Shankhill Bridge and just south of Horton Burn. These remains are also immediate adjacent to the Cramlington Colliery Railway (Scott Pit Branch). These coal working remains have now been built over.
