Description (or HER record listing)
A series of coal mining features - including bell pits and mine shafts - have been identified on Barmoor South Moor. These features provided access to a series of horizontal tunnels used to extract the coal from the area. There are many coal workings in the area where many, but thin, coal seams were exploited.
