Description (or HER record listing)

A series of later 19th century coal mining areas are known around Wrangham. These are dated to between the first edition Ordnance Survey (of 1866) and the second edition (of 1899). These would probably have been small bellpit type mines, perhaps worked in a succession after one became unstable after another. Little else apart from their date is known about these coal mines.
