Description (or HER record listing)
NEHL - A small coal working stood near to Medomsley Cross Roads from at least the 1850s and closed by the 1890s. The pit featured a very small tramway into what appeared to be a level, with 3 sidings going into a covered building.
The site was later absorbed by the much larger Medomsley Colliery, and was utilised as a coal depot with a rail connection. It appears there was a small waste heap and reservoir alongside it.
