Description (or HER record listing)
Another coal shaft is marked as 'old' on the 1890s Ordnance Survey. Nowadays there is discolouration in the crops and soil but no other visual indicator. LIDAR data does however show the smithy, indicating its foundations may still be found just under the surface.
Ordnance Survey, 1898
Aerial view of the shaft's location. Likely connected to Lickar Colliery. Disturbances in the soil may be the cause of the discoloration in the oilseed crop.
