Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal shaft marked as 'old' can be seen on both 1850s and 1890s Ordnance Survey maps, with a small sliver of land worked next to a number of other shafts and levels near a plantation. Little is known of the shaft, though may be related to a nearby colliery. Earth markings on satellite imagery indicate the presence of the shaft underground.
