Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A drift was situated immediately west of Cowsley Row, a pit terrace constructed to house pitmen and their families which has since been demolished. The drift was unconnected to any tramways or above ground facilities, so like many in the area was probably access to the underground workings. It is labelled as old by the 1890s.
