Description (or HER record listing)
NEHL - Two shafts were situated at Hamsteels Brick and Tile Works through the 19th century. One shaft just north of the kilns (54.803055, -1.741584) was much older than the instance to the south (54.801137, -1.741735) as it was already illustrated as 'old' by the 1850s. The whole complex was demolished by the 1890s as only moorland is shown on the OS maps.
