Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - An old coal pit was located in this field after the 1850s and closed before the 1890s. It was situated on a long footpath between Embleton Stead farm and Canada farm, and was likely a small working or bell pit for local use. It was situated close to Longframlington Colliery, though it is unknown whether it was part of their network of pits.

Satellite imagery shows a slight discolouration where the shaft used to be.
