Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - There is a set of 2 drift mines and a shaft just north of Heugh Farm at Esh Winning, and all are labelled as disused by the 1890s. It appears the easternmost drift (54.782089, -1.705063) was connected by waggonway directly to Esh Colliery via curve on the old West Terrace to a drift on the edge of the complex. Nowadays there is no visual evidence.
