Description (or HER record listing)

In 1966 opencast coal mining in Hett cut into the remains of a possible eighteenth century coal mine. The remains may even be older, but there was no firm dating evidence from this site.

NEHL - A shaft is illustrated on the 1890s Ordnance Survey maps, though isn't shown in the 1860s. Therefore, the workings may only be late 19th century.
