Description (or HER record listing)
NEHL - There were a number of pits operated by Lands Colliery, though sadly the names of each pit has been lost. This stood in the centre of what is now Lands Village, which was constructed around the pit. It was connected by tramway to Lands Colliery in the south via a single track tunnel under the Bishop Auckland line. During operation there were 1 access shaft and a number of ventilation shafts, as well as a pit pond.
