Several old drifts are illustrated as disused on the 1890s Ordnance Survey maps around the Bogle Hole Engine - an old pumping engine bringing water from underground to prevent flooding of the coal workings to the reservoir adjacent as seen on the photo below.

There is sadly very little known about these workings apart from the fact they were disused by the late 19th century. There was no rail connection, so were perhaps fairly informal landsale workings by some speculator from nearby Iveston.
