Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A small drift mine connected to Butterknowle Colliery was located here through the 19th century, and perhaps a few years into the 20th. The tramway had one track with two sidings, with a viaduct to pass over a valley between High Wham and South Side. Satellite imagery provides no obvious trace of this working.
