Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - Wham Colliery is illustrated on the 1859 Ordnance Survey map, though little evidence is provided of its exact location nor facilities. The map indicates it stood next to the Malt Shovel public house (now private residence), and isnt illustrated by the 1890s. There was a drift mine and coal shaft at High Wham, though a High Wham Colliery is also cited by the DMM.
